The events in Caemlyn are my favorite parts of that book. Here's what I can tell you about Andoran royalty, without spoilers. Some time before (I forget the exact timeline), Mordrellen of House Mantear was Queen, and her Aes Sedai advisor was Gitara Moroso. She had her son Luc and her daughter Tigraine. Luc disappeared into the Blight and was assumed dead. Tigraine married a noble from the neighboring nation of Cairhien, Taringail Damodred, who was the nephew and heir of King Laman. However, Tigraine disappeared too, not long after giving birth to her and Taringail's son Galad. Distraught by the loss of her children, Mordrellen took ill and died. Because there was no clear, female Mantear heir, this triggered the Third Andoran War of Succession, which was eventually won by Morgase Trakand, whose advisor was Elaida a'Roihan. Morgase married Taringail Damodred to maintain the peace, and bore Elayne and Gawyn with him before he died. So you do have a pretty good handle on it, for what RJ tells you at this point. As far as Lews Therin, the Breaking of the World changed geography so drastically that where he was in the prologue is almost meaningless. However, the site that he died at is now known as Dragonmount, outside Tar Valon.

Diiiiggin' this real good. Has a classic feel, and works in the real facts. Love Annalisa Cochrane's commitment in heavier, darker scenes and Kevin Pollak/Mena Suvari elevate every moment.
Biased, but the slow burn middle is completely rewarding in the third act. Now, let me start on a more positive note with this one, it is clearly not a work of art or even a good horror experience, but surely enough not the worst one either. A fair and decent effort, everyone took their roles seriously, did the best they could do, we had a few known actors and that is about it.
The subject, clearly overused without adding a personal touch to it, the acting ok, death shots are missing overall, and the ending itself is one that you have seen most likely 100 times by now. So are there reasons to recommend this? Well, excepting the actors, those that managed to create a career, behind Apparition there are people involved in the making of it and are also trying to make a name for themselves. And for that alone, I will appreciate what they did with the rather small budget, without relying on gore, torture porn or dragging the movie for too long.
All in all, it is a movie that will fly under the radar for sure. Not too much to see really, but certainly not a complete mess.

Such a moving & spiritual story - sorry I missed Oct. niversary. Keep that kid away from the catholic priests, lol. Hey Everyone, This is not my first post here, but actually the second. If you happen to have seen the post the other day about my door shaking mystery the other day, great!.. it got deleted. That was not my mind effingly screwy story which I mentioned, this is! At least it is to me. I've always believed that there is more out there and I always have felt something "else" is around if that makes sense anywhere I went, but around this time in my life things went from 1 to 11 and it's been a rollercoaster ever since. There would be years with no activity and then all the sudden whoosh. I'm in that whoosh phase right now which brings on the following. 15-ish years ago I was not doing so hot. Skip a hell of a lot of detail and we come down to this night where I was staying in a friend's house crashing on the couch and playing Metroid fusion on my Gameboy advance in the dark with a little LED light that plugged into the top port. It's about 1-2 am at this point and the only light in the living room is from that tiny little light. My legs are crossed facing the front door as well as the stairs. So I keep playing my game as is a regular night, hoping to get tired and get some sleep, but things get weird. Very weird. Mid game, I see something move out of the corner of my eye reaching the landing of the stairs. I put the gameboy down and look directly at it. There is I shit you not a full white figure of a person standing there. Head, torso, arms and even legs but at this point the legs kind of blend together making one single thingy. The head is the weirdest part because it was a solid white figure though it's only distinct features were the two dark spots for eyes which looked like they were looking right at me. I stare at this in awe and fear for a moment and thought to myself I'm seeing shit and tired so I rub my eyes.... As soon as I'm done rubbing I open them to find this thing is now moving with now two separate legs and already two steps down. It moves very slowly kind of like a slow motion video which was weird so I rub my eyes again - I'm seeing shit!!!! I watch it go down to the bottom of the stairs at which point it stops. Keep in mind it's eyes never seem to really blink or anything and I feel it peering into me. I'm scared as you wouldn't believe at this point. Then it walks around the coffee table, stands next to me and on my face the entire 's not at this point just looking in my direction, it's looking me dead in the eye. I am about to have a fucking nuclear heart attack!!! I probably said wha, wha, what the fuck 3 times at this point out loud. Then it raises it's right hand all the while staring at me and SLAMS it into my left knee which went into the couch backwards (I'm double jointed - so the only part that hurt was the initial hit). I spring up straight through this thing terrified beyond fucking belief and I did not know what to do, so I ran! I ran into the god damn bathroom maybe 15 ft from the incident where I slammed the door, flipped the light on and splashed water on my face I can't tell you how many times. That did not just happen, I thought. That is impossible! Ghosts, real, maybe! But to physically interact with me made absolutely no sense! I'm sitting in this bathroom alone thinking all this to myself, going over every single detail of what happened and I could not come up with any logical reason for it. Maybe a light hit my eye? Nope. Maybe, I injured myself earlier and that's why my knee hurt? Nope. Any other excuses? Nope. I can't tell you how long I sat in that bathroom in pure panic mode but the absolute last thing I wanted to do was open that door. My worst fear was to open it and see that son of a bitch, or whatever the hell it was waiting for me right there. I do not think I could take it. I would have likely had a real heart attack at 19 or 20 had I seen it right there. Needless to say I worked up the courage and walked out where nothing else happened that night and went on with it, but that downright was the scariest paranormal experience I've ever had. EDIT: So after all that I somehow forgot last night to mention how this was a wakeup call. Ever since then Ive been seeing full body apparitions, black, white, somewhere in between, basically you name it. I don't know what this event has to do with me starting to see things, but it apparently happened. The whole reason I found this subreddit a couple weeks ago is because out of the blue our garbage can flew across the kitchen as me and the mrs were watching a movie. I had just taken it out maybe an hour before this happened so it was very light and possibly easy to fling but interesting enough. We've lived here for 3 years and nothing has happened. In the last two weeks I have enough experiences to say something is up. All of which involve objects being flung or moved.

Pitch Meeting: So, what if Dee-Bo was the hero. If you like scary movies you should check out Apparition. I've been watching horror flicks since the 80's and this one to me fits in somewhere between the "Scream" style movies and a B flick.
In summary it's about a group of kids who use an app that connects them with the other side, revealing their past. Things however take a major turn and it gets dark real fast.
At times I felt a bit uncomfortable due to the horrible situations you'll will witness at this once boys reform school, but it adds to the overall mood and works well.
Walk into this one with an open mind a bag of popcorn and you won't be disappointed.

I was a bit concerned, because my taste in scary flics is a bit picky. But this one is great! It combines today's tech with a classic scary horror story. The plot and action build to a bunch of jump-out-of-your-seat moments that took me by surprise. Great believable cast, including Kevin Pollack, who plays a truly evil sinister role. The fact that it is based on true events, and was filmed at the very haunted building where the story took place, makes it even more creepy. Not sure you want the little kids to see this, at least not at night just before bed. But I'll be watching this again.
