After selling rotting apples on the side of a desert highway for booze money, three drifters are forced into a simmering conflict with a mysterious woman from California. LeRoy Johnson, the self-described leader of the pack, attempts an unconventional route toward conflict resolution, while Aroldis Garcia and Barry Matthews are preoccupied with a dead cow. Two friends from the town, Sophia Moller and Sophie Olsen watch the drama unfold from lawn chairs sitting underneath the shade of a local gas station.
