Hard Ops: Americium Update
Hard Ops: Radium Update
What is Hard Ops?
Hard Ops is a hard surface toolkit aimed as assisting with modelling, rendering and a variety of other things related to Hard Surface creation. The main goal is to make a hard surface workflow that can be utilized in full screen without a UI. This would allow the user to focus on the creation process and deal with buttons and panels on an as needed basis.
Tools live and then they die.
The goal of Hard Ops was to make a tool that would evolve over time and provide a superior experience at the end of life compared to the beginning with constant and massive updates designed with simplicity and speed in mind. I cannot describe as nothing other than a "living tool". No matter how many clones come about Hard Ops will be original because the core idea is too unusual to replicate. This isn't a boolean tool this is a hard surface toolkit. Aimed to help you get all the way from box to bot.
In a way Hard Ops is my personal perception of how one team feels Blender could approach hard surface modelling. Each tool has a purpose that is for the end goal of making the life of the modeller easier. While Blender contains many excellent tools for hard surface I feel they could be harnessed in one area for efficient usage.

You'll also get future updates! So stop asking! It ends at 1

How far has Hard Ops come?

The idea is with every number something large is implemented or changed and the minor releases are to ensure it remains working. Alot of work has went into making it future proof unless major api changes take place underneath Blender.
This add on is more than just an add on. It's a lifestyle. A toolset to help you with concepting hard surface forms. It comes with pre-made objects, and even tutorials to show you how to use it. The tutorial files are also included so it's definitely worth the cost. There's tutorials that could cost many times as much however I am keeping it low and adding to it just as an add on. So if you're asking about future updates the answer is yes until version 1.0 Then I am done. I will keep updating it for as long as I am using it and at least try to keep it working with subsequent versions of Blender while improving it. The goal was to make buying this add on a no brainier by providing a quality product along with quality tutorials. At a low price.
With this workflow you can work faster and get more freedom when it comes to modelling. Sure I could have just done tutorials on this process but instead I wanted to make something you take with you. That you integrate into your life and you grow with. And that is a value a tutorial just can't quite match.
Hard Ops is a hard surface toolkit designed for concept mesh creation in Blender. The operations are not designed with subdivision in mind however it is an option if needed. This tool requires Looptools to be enabled . Hard Ops is intended for situations where speed is more ideal than topology and the tools are subject to change at a moment's notice. Please approach this tool with an open mind and leave your topology at the door and have fun. Credit goes to far too many people to name however understand this plugin has been a team effort and is still and may always be a work in progress. I have worked hard on making it more stable, functional and accessible. If you are familiar with my workflow and style you will find this to be a indispensable tool allowing you to create like never before.
As I use it more features and changes can be expected to be added. But I can say with pride that this is the closer to a Beta than it is an Alpha.
So now ask yourself... Are you ready for a Hard Op?
You are like:
Pew Pew new version
Pew Pew new awesome features"
"It's official, Xeon is the #1 bro. "Oh you need solid tutorials man? Say no more, I already made them!" "Oh and I know you didn't ask for this but I went ahead and made them into a nice little playlist for you too, so you dont have to." You definitely earned yourself a repeat customer man. I'm gonna get the next add-on day one."
And of course the top file of the product is the latest version.
I also keep a last stable version while the latest gets replaced with experimental stable updates.
