After my tour guide training 12 years ago, one of my instructors took me to a private secret tour to Praga district. The main purpose was to explore hidden old Jewish prayer house. It was situated in a ruined extension to one of tenement houses out there. We sneaked up with flashlights to see its dirty walls covered with religious frescoes. Actually this escapade had a savor of sth illecit and mysterious. Now it’s a part of the Praga District Museum and it’s completely accessible. You’ll find it in my new Guidebook Jewish Warsaw. Along other remarkable 15 places which will uncover Jewish Warsaw for you.
