kernel_init()

is a sample pack that contains 450 ultra harsh .wav files. The pack is suitable for any electronic music genre (or video games) that need rough, broken and glitchy sounds. Think of genres like: Glitch, Breakcore, IDM, EBM, DnB, Dubstep, Drill, Industrial, Hardcore, Uptempo and genres like Grindcore, Music Concrete or Noise. (Could also be used for Pest Control ;-))

The samples have been made by (ab)using various sources; surface recordings of electronic equipment and power adapters. But also feedback loops, noise bursts and field recordings. Some of the sound design and processing was done on one of my old DAW computers, with prehistoric old and -for probably most- forgotten plugins.

Processed using a Sherman filter-bank and various obscure outboard units / guitar pedals. Again, using the old DAW with VST FX from and various ensembles.

There's even some stuff from my personal archives in there. Content that I sampled and cut up from my Amiga 500 (ProTracker) before it shutdown forever.
