'A surprising jaunt'Many people, relationships, beginnings and endings, and fields as well as giant and beckoning horizons have been part of this author's life story, to date. But something changed, irrevocably when she went to northern Finland, for three months, to sit still. Quietly, and alone. Reflections opened windows; windows expanded into doors. Of possibility, when one learns to go inward, deeply, and see what's for real, and what... just isn't.
The title of this collection, alludes to one of the author's favorite childhood stories, 'The Snow Queen', by H.C. Andersen. It was a trip to the forests of Lapland that set the story into motion. Photography from pieces of foliage from that very journey are included here, in a collection of new writing that might surprise you.

Dipika Kohli's written and visual work, as well as curations, juxtapose people, place, and found imagery in 'minitheaters'. She engages with media at hand, wherever she is, to build something out of what's available in that moment, with that feeling. A bricolage artist at heart, she thus invites the new to enter any frame: when mixed, there is invitation for those who are participant to connect, reconnect, and revisit their idea of such fixed thinking as 'this is where this is taking us' and 'here is what we know.' Do we know anything, for sure? Ask the quantum physicists. Ask N. Bohr: 'How wonderful that we have met with a paradox; now we have some hope of making progress.'
