What's an Egg CSA?
When you purchase a Winter Egg CSA, you are reserving one dozen eggs per week from December - April in advance, for a total of 22 dozen eggs throughout the winter. This officially secures your weekly dozen of organically-raised eggs.
Is there a schedule for pickup?
Yes! Your eggs will be available for pickup at the beginning of the week on Mondays throughout the winter. This means you can pick up your dozen eggs anytime between Monday and Sunday for that given week, just like the farmstand. You will be emailed the schedule as a PDF when you make your Winter Egg CSA reservation, it includes all the info you need.
How do I pick up my eggs every week?
There will be a full-sized white fridge in our garage where we will keep your eggs for pick up. To access our garage's side door, walk past the garage, then turn right and walk along the cement path. The access door will be on your right, around the corner of the garage. The fridge will be right there when you walk in. Your name will be written on the carton inside the fridge, then grab your share of eggs for the week, check-off next to your name on the clipboard on the fridge, and you are all set!
Do I have to pick up every week?
Nope! If you want to pick up every other week, or every three weeks, you most certainly can. Your name will be written on the carton, so your eggs will stay put until you come and pick them up. Don't worry, eggs are good for five weeks when stored in the fridge!
Can I purchase more than one dozen eggs per week?
Absolutely! To purchase multiple shares, use the dropdown menu above the "Pay" button to select how many shares you'd like to reserve.
What do you feed your chickens in the winter?
Our hens are fed a soy-free organic layer feed, food scraps from our kitchen, organically grown squash and pumpkins, and non-GMO organic scratch grain.
Where do you keep your hens in the winter?
Our 75 hens are relocated to our warm and cozy barn. They live on a deep bedding of organic straw, are given fresh water every day with a splash of apple cider vinegar, and then (if the snow permits) are given access to free-range our farm.
