Substance Component Essentials VOL 1.0

The idea for this pack begin with the struggle of making scans more flexible and Substances more realistic. In this pack I have taken a different approach on both scanning and working in Substance. Long story short I went to the hardware store and bought individual construction components like bricks, roof tiles and so on and scanned each piece individually. After that i baked down the highpolys into height maps from all desired angles.

The result is very high detailed height maps that can be used as shapes within Substance Designer to get scan quality in a non destructive workflow. This is great for beginners who struggle to get that last piece of realism in their materials or for professionals who just need a quick base and get on with their artistic vision.

This pack contains all the essential pieces for roads, walls, roofs and so on but in the hands of a more advanced user probably much more.

All the textures are delivered in 16-bit Tiff with a wide range that gives a lot of flexibility with each height map. By just leveling a brick you can get more edge wear or deeper details. If you only want the edge wear on some pieces simply clamp the top values of the brick and flatten it out.

This pack have 71 unique Height maps individually scanned and baked.

In the next pack I will focus on more natural assets such as bark, pinecones, sticks and maybe some wood elements.
