Magic of Home - Children's Book for India Covid-19 Relief

Hello everyone! We’re Simi Shah and Sruthi Muluk, two friends from college who met through our shared love our our culture, our Indian heritage. In Spring 2020, we created this children’s book in order to support two important causes: the Black Lives Matter movement and Covid-19 relief efforts. Now, we’re sharing it again in hopes of supporting Covid-19 relief efforts in India. 

The country is in crisis, and we feel compelled to help.100% of proceeds from this e-book will be donated to organizations working to provide Covid-19 relief in India. This includes, but is not limited to, Sewa International. We will share confirmation of our final donation.Upon donating, you'll receive a PDF copy of the book.

When we first began work on The Magic of Home, Covid-19 had forced many of us to shelter in place. For that reason, our story centers on a (South Asian) fairy who shows children the magic of home. We hope that budding young readers can find that magic themselves through this story, even as daily life continues to be disrupted by the pandemic. Despite the uplifting message of The Magic of Home, we recognize that not everyone’s life looks like this right now. Our intention is not to erase or sugarcoat these narratives. We hope that the funds raised from this story can serve those in India who truly need it most. As first-generation Indian Americans, we feel compelled to do what we can in the current hour.
