Complete instructions for making a Magnet of your own!
You'll find both Assembly Instructions and a Parts List in the included PDF, as well as links to purchase the 3D-printed body pieces on Shapeways.
The body components are around $100 from Shapeways; with other parts (and tools you may need) we estimate the total cost to be around $150–200, and assembly to take a couple hours.
We've also added a second PDF, created by one of our DIY Magnet customers, with helpful diagrams for assembly.
You can grab these instructions for as little as $5. We've made the pricing flexible so if you'd like to chip in a bit more, we'd appreciate that too!
- 3D files are NOT included — we're still working on this and not ready to make the source files available. But we have tried this on a variety of 3D-printers, and so far Shapeways' SLS process gives by far the best results!
- The supplier we use for many of the parts, McMaster-Carr, unfortunately doesn't ship outside the USA. International Magnet-makers, note that you're on your own when it comes to sourcing screws, springs, etc.
