I learned it from Chris Norman and from the original recording of Alfred Montmarquette who was an influential accordion player in the Quebecois tradition. The tune is well-known in Quebecois music and is an excellent vehicle for exploring a vast variety of variations while maintaining the integrity of the piece. I demonstrate the substantial advantages of leading with the left hand. It is an absolute beast but well worth the trouble – take it one measure at a time!
