The topic of modes is perhaps the most misunderstood topic in all of music. Most guitarists struggle to understand what modes are, how modes are used, and why modes matter.

Requirements

In order to fully take advantage of the modal concept, you need to be familiar with major scale patterns and the number system used to play chord progressions. Major scale patterns are taught in  Chapter 5. Chord progressions are taught in Chapter 6.
