Mongoose is the object-relational mapping library for Node.js (JavaScript on the server) and MongoDB (NoSQL database). By using Mongoose you can make your application have models, validations and organize code better with custom methods and pre and post hooks!
The danger of not using an ORM is that every time you make changes to the structure of the data you have to modify the application code.
The additional benefit is that Mongoose methods are easier to use than native MongoDB driver ones!
