The Monopol type family consists of 3 cuts. Each of them is the result of an exploration into a different direction. As a result, the members of this type family show strongly diverging qualities while still sharing the same core aesthetics. The initial Monopol typeface is a rather bold and wide typeface based on clear geometric forms. It was drawn to create strong headlines and wordmarks. Monopol Thin stays true to the clear geometric form and monolinear strokes of the original cut but has a much more elegant and lightweight appearance. Monopol Kompakt is a heavily condensed variation thanks to the introduction of a contrast in the stroke thickness. Due to this reduced width, it is perfectly suited to be used in situations where eye-catching aesthetics are in need and available space for typesetting is very limited.
