Digital Painting Course in Manga Studio 5 EX - Lesson 2 - Conceptual Elements - Weapons

Chapter 2. Drawing and Painting Weapons 

This is a step by step process that where I demonstrate my techniques in painting with Manga Studio 5 EX - Clip Studio Paint Pro and narrate the entire process. This second lesson is 1 Hour and 27 Minutes long in HD quality.  The first hour and 15 minutes is all in real time with narration of the process.  The last 12 minutes is time lapsed with narration because I am repeating steps that were already explained in the lesson.  I am using a Wacom Tablet to create this artwork.

2.1 We begin this lesson by drawing out the weapons artwork that you see above.  I show you how I create a rough sketch and refine the line work with the tools in Manga Studio 5.  I then cover how to create a selection and a flood fill to get ready for applying digital paint to our design.

2.2 We then start the painting process.  I show you how to separate parts of the painting to simplify the process.  Using the layers and lock transparency features we can paint with ease and focus on the details.  I also show you how to apply textures while painting to create various surfaces.  We also focus on blending modes to create effects.
