Zero Period

Zero Period is the perfect showcase for your advanced middle school or beginning high school jazz band. The head is a groovy 16-bar blues in F that features the saxophone section playing the melody in unison over the supportive trombones. After an exciting rhythm section pause, the trumpets take over. The solo section is a 12-bar Bb blues with chord changes in every part.  This is a great teaching tool to give everyone a chance to try improvisation.

Lead trumpet plays a written G (on the top of the treble staff). Rhythm section parts have chord changes and notated comping. The guitar parts has tablature as well as standard chord symbols.
