Artist Reference Photos: New Zealand Kea

During my time in New Zealand, I fell in love with all of the birds, not least of which is the world's only alpine parrot -- the Kea.

Keas are highly intelligent, and you'll come to realize this the moment you see them! They are very inquisitive, and as soon as humans and their gear show up, they fly over, eager to poke and prod and check things out. I had the pleasure of seeing them in the wild on the route to Milford Sound, and also had them attack my car near Mt. Cook!

This bundle has several photos of wild keas and two close-up compilations of their beaks and feathers, ideal for choosing colors and getting those tiny details just right. They're not ideal for use as stock, but they're perfect for artist references.
