A-MAZE-ing Numbers: Addition and Subtraction to 10

These number mazes are such a fun way for kids to practice adding and subtracting within 10, as well as focus on fact families for the numbers 1-9.

To Use:

Each maze is shaped like a number from 1-9.

• To find your way through the maze, you follow the addition and subtraction solutions that are equal to that number.
• For example, on the five maze, you follow all the solutions that are equal to 5 to make it through the maze.

Teaching tips are also included, so that you can use this not only as a fun way to practice math facts, but as a springboard for deeper math discussion and discovery.

There are several extension ideas, to help kids not just memorize the facts, but see the patterns in the addition and subtraction facts for a given number.

Also included are answer keys for each maze, just to make your job a little easier.
