4-5 minutesTHOUGHTSOur schedules are packed. Time is precious. Everyone we talk to is busy. But, have you ever stopped to look at the things we do and ask “why?” Why do we do this thing we always do?Maybe it’s a family vacation you take every year, or a group of friends that always get together, or a business meeting that routinely occurs on Monday morning, or the two hours of TV we watch every night. Maybe the question can be applied to our lives. Why did we get married? Why did we have kids? Why am I in the this line of work? Why do I go to church every Sunday? We could be doing things just because we’ve always done them, or because everyone else is doing it, or because someone asked us to and we responded, never asking the deeper questions. And what if something else comes along and challenges our reason for doing something? How do we react? If we change our minds and start doing something else, was the thing we did before worth all the trouble?“Why” is a motivator because it gives us purpose. Have you asked “why”? Why not?THEMES:
