Gals and Goddesses
by Nina Mansfield
A collection of three short plays with roles for women of all ages.
Sculpting Perfection (2 women, 1 man): It’s the morning of the annual Bear Lodge Park Snow Sculpture Contest, and Clara and her daughter Allison had planned to sculpt Michelangelo’s David. But first, Clara must sculpt Allison into perfection. When the door bell rings, Allison learns that Clara had no intention of sculpting snow today after all.
Alone in the Goldfish Bowl (2 women): It’s been ages since Ari left the house, and Nikki wants her sister to come out for the night. But Ari’s goldfish has just died. And her husband is gone too. A contemplation on life, death, and what it means to be stuck in a goldfish bowl.
Au Naturel (3 women): On Karen’s birthday, she encounters a strikingly familiar woman in the sauna at the Au Naturel spa. It turns out that Karen does know this woman. She is Mother Nature, and Karen wants some answers!
Plays may be performed in any order, as a collection, or individually.
