MAY 31 @ 1:30 PM Audio Editing Made Easy Workshop for New Podcast & Audiobook Producers (Santa Monica / Free Software)
This face-to-face event in Santa Monica will teach new podcast producers how to edit and release audio for podcasts. Every attendee will receive access to video documentation of the material covered that they can refer to after the event and Audacity, the free professional audio editing application for Mac and Windows computers. The location for this event will be sent out to registered attendees 24 hours before the event. No Refunds after May 22.
This event will also be useful for those who want to learn how to record audio books and edit audio tracks for their video projects.
About this Event
This is the perfect event to attend if you are a writer, screenwriter, producer or entrepreneur who would like to create podcasts and audiobooks but are afraid you can’t manage the technical aspects of production.
Folks who sign up to attend this workshop who want to follow along with the steps in the project are free to bring their own laptop computer to the event. Those who would rather just watch the presentation are also welcome to attend. Videos they receive will record steps they can follow at home.
This workshop will introduce attendees to the free professional audio editing software called Audacity which is available free for both Mac and PC computers.
Topics covered will include:
- A quick primer on how to record high quality audio including the need for “room tone”
- Properties of the WAV and MP3 file formats podcasters and audiobook producers need to know about.
- Information on where and how to buy non-P.R.O. music and sound fx for use in your projects.
- Recording Audio with Audacity
- Importing audio tracks into Audacity
- How to copy and move tracks between Audacity files.
- How to convert between stereo and mono tracks
- Deleting, copying, moving, and editing audio clips.
- Editing multi-track audio files.
- Fading audio in and out
- Reducing noise in a track.
- Adding silence to a track.
- Normalizing audio on a track.
- Exporting tracks to create finished MP3 files.
