Finding Fiction in Your Own Backyard

After my debut children’s middle grade novel, Gone From These Woods, was published by Random House in 2009, I had the opportunity to present a writing workshop at several conferences and at other learning venues such as the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Athens, Georgia. My workshop, entitled Finding Fiction in Your Own Backyard, was fun to present and many aspiring writers told me they enjoyed it and learned a lot about writing.
