In 1969, my community had a crime wave!
Most of our crime problems were committed by local teens. Without a local police department, a volunteer committee took charge, hired two sheriff investigators to help implement the “Neighborhood Responsibility Program.” The committee of 10 residents, got organized and encouraged friends to host neighborhood meetings (17,500 residents). Within 2+ years, our residents worked together and decreased crime 48%.
