The Ridiculously Big Salad

This is a 78-page e-book that deconstructs "The Ridiculously Big Salad," my go-to meal in the year of losing 140 pounds, becoming "half my size" (from 280 to 140). I didn't realize at the time that I really did have a pretty distinct keto eating formula that was central to my success. I was simply desperate, preparing for bariatric surgery (which I would never get and I no longer qualify for), and trying one more "diet" to help me shed a few pounds before surgery. Who knew I would end losing 140 pounds. I sure didn't, but here I am.

As others have found my story and jumped in, I've noticed that the people achieving the most intensive weight loss have implemented meals that look a lot like my "Ridiculously Big Salad." That observation sent me to the kitchen for two months to deconstruct the meal itself. I was rather blown away that I was following an actual eating framework all of those months. The salads had a predictable amount of salad greens, calories in dressing, and a healthy protein. That whole mix of food in one giant boy, eaten once a day in an epic hour of chewing, naturally limited my calorie consumption, put a ceiling on my protein consumption, and loaded my body up with nutritional variety, all in a way that required no "counting" of macros or any real fuss. It also, shockingly, reduced my feelings of hunger.

What's in the bowl? There's really basic stuff in that bowl. There is nothing special or fancy about "The Ridiculously Big Salad." That point amazes me too. May the "Ridiculously Big Salad" be the end to the far more ridiculous market in weight loss products attempting to profit from our desperation.

To that end, what you won't find in this book are links to products of any kind. There are no affiliate links or special "sales funnels" to capture you in your desperate moment and to pull money out of your pocket. You just need to spend your money in the perimeter of a grocery store, buying real food and preparing it in the way I describe in this book.

On that note, the book includes:

* 15 homemade salad dressings that fit "The Ridiculously Big Salad" framework. About half of the dressings have dairy in them. I will work on non-dairy options because I doubt that dairy is necessary for success, but those options are not there yet.

* Instructions to bulk cook common protein toppings with a system for freezing them so that you always have ingredients for a 5- or 10-minute salad.

* A 6-week meal plan that brings the dressings and proteins together, along with shopping lists. You will understand the salad and have the tools to implement it immediately.

It is my goal that this resource helps you implement this eating strategy in some fashion. Some will read the book and launch into their own 6-week plan just using the concepts I have outlined. Some will follow it precisely. Some people will eat the salad everyday. Some will eat it a couple of times a week. Ultimately, we all need to find a model that works for our unique lifestyles and I hope this will be a healthy tool for you to add to yours.

Technical details:

First, I am sorry this is a digital book. (I know!) When you purchase it, you will include your email with your purchase (don't mistype it) and you will receive an email with a download link. The digital PDF file will download to your device. You can read it on the device (but I so don't recommend that on something small like an iPhone). You can also easily print it and read the printed version. That is definitely what I would do. This is almost entirely a text-based book, making it easy to print. An updated version will be delivered to your same email sometime in October of 2019.
