In this video, you will be taken from scratch through the process of crreating a fully automated landscape material using material Layers in UE4. You will learn how to control exactly where each material layer is placed automatically while providing the end user of your material with a high level of control, that can be expanded with extra features as you need them. You will be shown how we can then use this to create very different types of looks using the very same terrain.
It will work with any terrain, and especialy well for terrrain / height maps coming from Gaea or World Machine.
Keeping things well organised, and using a number of material functions we will create a versatile and lightweight automatic landscsape material. You will also learn how to automaticaly place foliage and allow its removal in places you don't want it. It provides as near to a 'one cliuck' solution as possible.
This tutorial is provided in two versions. The version with the UE4 project files (minus the plants) for a cheaper price, and a second version with the project files. The entire tutorial is in 19 parts and covers all you need to know.
A follow up tutorial to this one will also be released very soon covering even more advanced stuff.
