Saastopankki – the “Spooky Tune” (Traditional, Finland)

0 ratings

What a beautiful discovery with a terrible title which translates roughly to “Savings Bank”!! This lovely piece has become a bit of an ear worm for me! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. It offers a nice illustration of the harmonic possibilities of the Aeolian mode. The intro features a toggling of two chords: so much fun to play and explore the power of the natural bass line that exists with the alternating dominant 7th and tonic. Simple but GREAT tune! You will be hooked in no time.
