Stronger Siblings

This DVD, Stronger Siblings, brought to you by Siblings Australia will assist parents, and those who work with families, to understand the experience of brothers and sisters of children with disability, and how to support them.

Parents and siblings share their stories and, together with professionals, explore a number of issues, including:

· Why support siblings

· The issues – short and long term

· How concerns might show up in behaviour

· The needs of siblings

· The role parents play

· Outside support – extended family, friends, schools and organisations.

Included with the film are discussion notes (in .pdf format) that can be used by a facilitator working with a group of parents, or by a group of parents themselves. The notes expand on the information in the film and also suggest group activities.

There are two versions of the film - one in High Definition and one in Standard Definition.
