Picture this: you're in the early states of working on a new project, but aren't sure what data to track, how to define and measure success, or if the initiative is even making an impact at all!
Enter: This toolkit. With So What?, you'll learn to identify signals of impact, create a plan for capturing those signals, and leverage a simple framework for evaluating your approach to impact measurement. This download comes with easy-to-follow instructions and 9 worksheet activities.
The right impact measurement strategy helps us understand the value of our work at a deeper level.
The toolkit opens by providing a method for defining your project’s goal and the “So What?”, or intention, behind it. Next, you’ll work to define what success looks like for your project, and break down the implications of that success. After you’ve defined the project’s goal and intended outcomes, the toolkit walks you through a process for determining the key identifiers of the change you want to make, along with ways to capture and assess that change. Finally, you’ll evaluate your strategy, and complete an Impact Measurement Strategy canvas to share with your team.
Impact Measurement allows us to understand how much change can be credited to a specific project or activity.
This toolkit can benefit:
- Non-profit organizations and social enterprises launching a new program or initiative
- For-profit businesses launching a new product or service
- Practitioners and students looking to measure the impact of a project
What's the deal with this being Pay-What-You-Want??
The toolkit is available on a Pay-What-You-Want basis. We do not expect any compensation for our resources/materials as we want this to be as accessible as possible to anyone and everyone. Our mission is to build capacity, not to make money. This said, if you are able to contribute, it is greatly appreciated! We recommend a donation of $10-20. 50% of any donations received will be donated to the International Rescue Committee.
This toolkit was created in partnership between verynice and the Airbel Impact Lab, the research and innovation team at the International Rescue Committee. It is published by Reginald. If for some reason you do not receive a link to download after checking out, check your spam folder and/or email firstname.lastname@example.org, and we'll help you sort it out!
