S P A C E || Battambang is an 8-page zine by Design Kompany, created through the event Atelier S P A C E || Battambang.
In 'Here Comes the Dance,' you get to eavesdrop on Karin Malhotra and Andy Feynman's chance encounter in a small cafe in Battambang, Cambodia. Based on real events, it's a short work of creative nonfiction about, largely, the so-called Age of Anxiety. In bricolage style, each zine in the series S P A C E is co-created with people DK bumps into in real life on the lookout for 'whatever falls to hand.' In Battambang, writings by Laurence Sterne (in Tristram Shandy) and the biography of physicist R. Feynman greatly influenced 'Here Comes the Dance.'
IN 2017, the zine was featured at the Singapore Writers Festival in a popup atelier there, and also at Georgetown Literary and Readers Festival. See the journey of Atelier S P A C E in pictures at instagram.com/dkompany.This is the digital version of the zine, S P A C E || Battambang.
