A shared love of practiced line drawing, jazz, photography, and verse in new forms intertwine in this week's S P A C E collaboration.

This unique issue is made by: London-based poet and author Ilyas Kassam; and two members of DK—BOSS, and Dipika Kohli.

Ilyas Kassam

The cover art is by Ilyas Kassam, who also paints. Of his paintings, Kassam says he tries to examine the idea of how space is not the negation of matter, but rather the energetic vivacity that gives matter its life. Another of his pieces is in this issue, too. We pair these in' 'Project Epicurus' with new photo-graphic art by boss & dk, plus a poem co-created by Kohli and Kassam, called 'Ionic Jazz.'

BOSS

Several images are by BOSS, a photographer and illustrator whose voracious appetite for classic literature serves us well, and often. DK collaborates regularly with BOSS while in Southeast Asian cities like Dalat, Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, and Tanah Rata. BOSS is a longtime contributor to S P A C E, and, in many ways, one of its core architects. Learn more about this e-mag S P A C E, plus DK's projects currently being launched for our Winter 2019-2020, 'Project Epicurus' series at this site:
