Returning to the old places, DK is in Melakka.
A conversation that unfolds when DK visits the shopkeeper of a place that was a place she had been to before, two years prior, there is a moment of strangeness and the quality of space that comes when one is aware that one is in exceptional territories for cross-fire arguments to start. There had been one, in the time before.
'You don't remember me, do you?', begins the new one. But oh. 'Of course!' He does.
The lead story, 'Two Zł,' is a reference to Polish currency.
Besides the fact that DK this week ran into a pair of ladies from Poland, upon whom DK foisted the whole story of Zakopane's random visit and stopover this summer at peak season, well, yeah, besides that, there is a coin, that is still with her, at the moment of arriving in Melakka and which becomes significant on this trip.
Images from Zakopane are thus brought into this zine. They're given DK's signature graphic facelift, and included in this juxtaposition of places far and near.
