A DIALOGUE ON 'CREATIVE PROCESS'
Dipika Kohli interviews ceramics artist Ronan Kyle Peterson in a short Q&A
They talk here about work, cycles, and the journeys in 'making.' It's a snippet in a sea of intermittent conversations between them on topics related to the creative process, conversations that span three decades. The exchange is a rare glimpse into the minds and techniques of people who care very much about 'doing and trying,' especially in an era of superficiality. They like to make, do, and discover new methods, rather than dress things up to make them look 'insta-pretty.' Read it for yourself to discover how.
RONAN KYLE PETERSON
'I use red earthenware clay to make my ceramic vessels. Most of my work is wheel-thrown, altered while wet and assembled when pieces have dried to a leather hard state. My pots are often times coated with a white slip, or liquid clay.' More about Peterson's work is at his website ninetoespottery.com, and instagram @caterboy
Cover photograph and inside series, 'Cloud,' is curated by DK's Dipika Kohli, made in 2017 in Singapore. Kohli is DK's creative director & co-founder. More about her artworks and installations, which have been called 'wildly imaginative' juxtapositions, is at dipikakohlii.com
