Hi, I’m Shanna, and with my co-author, Maria, I’ve created simple and delicious recipes (that just happen to be vegan & gluten-free) with you in mind.

You are busy. And hungry. We get it—we are, too.

We love to cook and we love to eat, but we won’t compromise on nutrition OR flavor. And we don’t like to spend all day in the kitchen.

Because it’s the one word that encapsulates my life and my work.

I aim to live simply, intentionally, and to use mindfulness as my guide for everything: business, relationships, food, health, lifestyle, travel, and domestic surroundings.

Maria and I believe in using the freshest, in-season, organic and/or local produce for environmental, health, and taste reasons.

This cookbook (ebook), however, is not about politics—it’s about straight up delicious food that you, your friends, and family—whether omnivore or vegetarian—can get excited about. Why? Because these recipes are freakin’ yummy! We know—we make and eat many of the items in this book each week. No holding back, we brought out twenty of our best recipes just for you!

The Intentionalist Cooks! does not follow the rules that most cookbooks follow.

Sections are not broken down by meal type, like breakfast or lunch, or by dish type, such as salads or desserts, but by four simple categories: Essentials, Savories, Sweets, and Tools & Must-Haves.

All these recipes make yummy, healthful, vegan and gluten-free dishes that can be combined to make simple, fabulous meals using ingredients that most people have or can easily locate (hello, Amazon.com!).
