A Shattered Soul

I saw it happen out of the corner of my eye. A dark-clothed, hooded person jumped in front of an oncoming car. I reacted on instinct, saving him from impact. Once safe on the pavement, I learned that he was someone from my past. Someone I had once inflicted pain upon, someone I’d failed back in college. Now might be the perfect time to try and make it all up to him—if that is even possible after what I’ve done and with his own suicidal tendencies.
