Quickly create lightmap UVs automatically with this handy tool in Autodesk Maya. No need to waste time going through menus or creating custom UV mapping for your model, create lightmap UVs in one click.
WARNING before using these scripts:
If you're using Maya 2018 please install service pack 6 or later
If you're using Maya 2017 please install service pack 5 or later
FEATURES:
-One click button to toggle checker map on/off and increase/decrease checker scale
-One click button to create lightmap UVs from your map1 UVs similar to Unreal's method
-One click button to create lightmap UVs from normal angle of 30, this can be handy if the map1 UVs have been created poorly and aren't suitable to be used as lightmap UVs
-Lightmap UVs are unfolded to prevent overlap errors in Unreal and Unity
-Faces that self intersect and can't be unfolded are automatic mapped to avoid errors in Unreal and Unity
-One click button to switch all models in the scene between diffuse UVs and lightmap UVs without having to select the model first
-Padding drop down and layout button to quickly space your UV shells appropriately for your project
-Tickbox to turn off unfold, rotate, and scale when laying out UVs.This allows you to manually scale up/down UV shells and rotate them, then layout UVs again to maintain your custom edits. Great for reducing wasted UV space
-One click button to select all UV shells smaller than the size you specify, this is handy for selecting all the super small shells in one click and then scaling them up to avoid bake errors in Unreal or Unity
-One click button to toggle UV set editor so you can visualize how many UV sets your model has
-One click button to delete existing lightmap UVs
-Toolbox takes up minimal screen space so you can leave it open while you work
