This modifier is like the standard Push modifier, but uses vertex colors to influence the degree of push along the vertex normal.

Using non-greyscale colors can affect the amount of push in the XYZ directions independently, or use the Convert Color to Greyscale option to force it to do a simple average.

Gamma is the input to a power function. Use this to control the falloff of the color's influence on the push effect. 1.0 is linear and does nothing, 0.0 disables vertex colors completely.


This was made to solve the issue of self intersection on an inflatable braid mesh, where I baked AO to vertex colors so the pipes wouldn't inflate as much in areas where they were already close to each other.
