Trochanteric Bursitis is a repetitive strain injury. Common in runners (hence the term ‘runners’ hip’), It occurs when the connective tissues that pass over the hip bone become irritated and sore with movement or exercise.
The following symptoms are associated with Trochanteric Bursitis:
- Pain which is worse after exercise, walking or climbing stairs.
- Tenderness when the outside of the hip is touched or pressed.
- Radiating pain into the buttock or down the outside of the leg to the knee.
- Discomfort when lying on your side in bed.
Trochanteric Bursitis is not serious but tends to get worse over time if left untreated.
Our treatment guide will show you how to manage the pain and accelerate the body’s natural healing process. Strengthening and mobilisation exercises will help you achieve normal pain free movement and prevent re-injury.
