Amazing Grace is a well known Christian hymn written by John Newton in 1779. The lyrics come from Newton's personal experience when he became involved in the Atlantic slave trade. When his vessel was violently knocked about in a storm, he called out for God. This marked Newton's spiritual conversion and he ended his seafaring life and changed to studying Christian theology. The melody we know was taken from "New Britain" and William Walker joined the two together.
This piano arrangement would be a wonderful concert version of the work, with unique key changes and ideas spread throughout that are playable by intermediate level pianists. This is a wonderful piece of sheet music to have, so if you love the tune, we encourage you to check it out!
