Using the Eevee shader displacement technique any object can now be woven in realtime without addons. You can either use the proximity from an empty or the UV maps to control the effect. Please keep in mind that this will slow down when used with high poly meshes. To transfer the effect to another object, copy the modifiers, UV maps (and their labels), and the material.
