Megan Rich grew up in small-town Michigan, studying the art of the backwoods, climbing trees and blowing dandelion seeds. She later attended the University of Michigan and studied English, Creative Writing and Secondary Education. Upon graduation, she lived abroad for six years – three in Asia and three in Europe – during which time she taught Literature and Writing at international schools, traveled extensively, and wrote a novel. She currently lives in Denver, Colorado, where she wrote the majority of her travel memoir, Six Years of A Floating Life. She gets to the backwoods as often as she can and likes to hope her life is still as light as a dandelion seed.
